Third Day Family Picnic* Details:

Third Day is looking for dedicated fans to play reporter for each night of Third Day's Revelation Tour throughout October. The criteria is simple:

• You must live in the area and have tickets to the concert
• You must feel comfortable using a video camera and be available 2 hours prior to the show
• You must be outgoing and love the band's music
• You must be 18 years or older

Chain-wielding patron arrested in Alpharetta
August 26, 2009

Alpharetta police arrested a 21-year-old Powder Springs man Aug. 14 at the Incubus concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater for swinging a 20-foot chain in the seating aisles.

According to the incident report, the suspect, Jeremy Snyder, was spotted by concert security "swinging a 20-foot chain around in his right hand in a 360 motion as he ran between the aisles."

The guard asked him to stop, but the "shirtless" and "green-jeaned" Snyder reportedly ignored him. Snyder was eventually caught by security, though he had dropped the chain.

"Jeremy was later found to be extremely intoxicated," wrote police. He was charged with disorderly conduct.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is giving away 4,000 lawn tickets to its last concert of the season at Verizon Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta.

The Aug. 15 concert features the U.S. debut of 16-year-old guest conductor Ilyich Rivas. The program includes Verdi’s “Vespri” Overture, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 and Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, performed by Elena Urioste. The evening will end with fireworks.

Effective immediately, Fulton County residents with proof of residency may pick up four free tickets and a parking pass at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre box office or the Woodruff Arts Center box office.

The giveaway is made in partnership with the Fulton County Arts Council.

Interestingly, Ticketmaster just released some Dave Matthews Band LAWN Seats (face value) on Ticketmaster.com on the DAY OF THE CONCERT. Perhaps they realized that the square footage of the lawn was a few square feet larger than previously thought.

"British heavy metal legends JUDAS PRIEST will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their classic album "British Steel" this summer (it was originally issued in April 1980) by performing the LP in its entirety for the very first time ever live on stage! In addition they will be playing some old favorites. Vocalist Rob Halford told Noisecreep, "It's like suddenly, thirty years have come upon us and we're about to celebrate. The album's technical anniversary is April of next year, but want to start the party early."

Reo Speedwagon, Styx, and .38 Special are coming to Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park on Sunday, June 21.

Formed in 1967 by Neal Doughty and his dorm mate at the University of Illinois, Alan Gratzer, REO Speedwagon got its start playing the college bar circuit. Epic Records eventually caught their act and signed the fledgling band and the rest is history. REO Speedwagon has released 16 studio albums and 18 charting singles in their 25 years + in the music industry.

Styx last played at Encore Park with BOSTON on August 17, 2008.

38 Special is an American rock band named for the .38 Special cartridge. The band was formed by neighborhood friends Don Barnes and Donnie Van Zant in 1975 in Jacksonville, Florida. Donnie's older brother Ronnie was lead singer for the band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Another brother, Johnny, is now the lead singer of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Kenny Chesney is coming in concert live to Encore Park on Thursday May 28th with Miranda Lambert & Lady Antebellum.

From Luttrell, Tennessee, Kenny Chesney is the reigning Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year. Since 1993, Chesney has recorded thirteen albums, eleven of which have been certified gold or higher by the RIAA. He has also produced more than thirty Top Ten singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, fifteen of which reached Number One. He was awarded his 4th consecutive ACM Entertainer of the Year award on May 18, 2008.

The Dave Matthews Band Concert presale for Encore Park started January 20, 2009 but did not yield good seats to AMEX presale purchasers.

There were two presale options: AMEX Gold Card with 10-digit Customer Service phone number located on the back of the AMEX Gold Card (8003272177), and regular AMEX Cardmembers (no passcode). The Gold Card passcode did not return any seats, while the regular AMEX cardmember search option returned seats in the back reserved section (101-105).

Best bet for good seats is likely to just wait for the general public sale to start on January 24, 2009 at 10:00am.
